Is Bigamy Illegal in the U.K?

Many different country's around the world have different laws regarding bigamy. Bigamy is the marriage of a man or woman to more than one person at a time. Some country's allow bigamy but in the U.K, Bigamy is Illegal. The Citizens advice bureau states. " If you marry in the United Kingdom and are already legally married, the marriage will be bigamous and therefore is void. Although it is a criminal offence to marry someone when you are already married, prosecution is not automatic." This seems to indicate that though bigamy is a criminal offense.
